Goodbye, it felt like we just met May 4, 2010

Many people over the last month(?) have asked me why I resigned from Facility B5D. I gave different versions, sometimes a long version, other times a quick,short,non-complete version. I’ll break down some of the events that led up.
Early 2009- United Clans Founder steps down from his position and appoints me as New Admin of UC. I feel as it’s my noble duty to represent UC and get more involved with our Affiliates. I thus join B5D.

July 2009- Facility B5D hosts a contest to look for a News Journalist to join their staff. I enter and win. I am awarded the staff rank and get Orange(Then staff color).

Fall 2009-  Site Update, staff color is removed. Staff given Site Supporter color. Arguments and Problems arise with change.

No Change on issue for a couple of months.

Winter 2009-Staff given their own color.

Late Winter 2010- I take over Public Relations duties along side my news duties

March 2010- Me along with 3 others are appointed to Administrator along side announcement of Project C.

March 2010-April 2010-  Issues and problems arise. I won’t do into detail

April 21st,2010- Myself and padres are demoted back to staff(Different reasons)

April 22nd,2010-I resign from Facility B5D staff.

There are many reasons for this. One of them being a huge miscommunication between Admins and Founders. We were limited in what we could actually do.  Alot of things had to go through the Founders(In which I will not name, I will just refer them to “The Founders”) which were absent from the Community alot.  Another reason is I had troubles working in limited ways, I felt like I couldn’t truly do what I was fully capable of. I couldn’t control the way the Community was going or how things were gonna go. Not saying I did having a say, but that it’s self didn’t seem like it was going say. I wanted a Different thing then Facility B5D could offer. Thus me giving my full love to my own Creations. Where I had complete control(Not saying I’m a control freak) and say in matters.  I had a vision of a active community, Fully Active and Co-operative staff and good communication with both each other and our Community. That is a key element in keeping a community strong. Which (at the time) couldn’t happen at Facility B5D. Another big reason is, Project C. At first I was kinda skeptical  about it, then I had high hopes. We were fully briefed on what was going to happen, it seemed it was gonna be awesome.

For the very few months I was admin, I could see it wasn’t going to turn out. Staff meetings had half the staff. A good chuck of the staff who were key players in Project C’s development were missing from most of the staff meetings.

Those were the three big factors in my decision to resign.

Now I’m sure your wondering about the demotion part mentioned above. Of course I won’t say anything about padres demtion, but I’ll give a brief spiel about mine. Since I am no longer staff of B5D.

During a staff meeting(Of course with half the staff) we decided on staffing changes. All 4 of us agreed(or I thought so) agreed on staffing changes. I went ahead and did some of the changes. 1 of the members affected by the changes went about it immaturely. I also sent a message to this person, disgusted by what they did.  The next day, I was demoted.

Was I wrong in doing it? I don’t think so. Like mentioned above, Miscommunication.

Do I regret in doing it? Nope.

I’m not pointing fingers or saying whos the bad guy, I’m just getting the facts out there.

Yes I’m kind of disappointed all the work I put into the Community is now wasted, but I learn from my mistakes. I promised myself I would only invest in my own Community and creations or in sites I know will work out.

That is why I am going to (hopefully) start working on something very soon.

Also Pro Tip: NEVER put a Clan or Community in your gamertag unless you are 100% certain you will be interested in or apart of that community forever. Even if it’s your own community. I won’t be making that mistake again either.
